5.12.2013 update: We won multi-multi category in Scandinavia. Final score was 733 721.
Hello there and thanks for all the SAC CW qsos!
We took part in the Scandinavian Activity Contest (SAC) CW part on 21-22. September 2013 in multi-multi category. Two operators: Niko OH2GEK and Simo OH2LRE, and two stations yielded the following claimed result:
Band conditions were nice. Bands were open, except 10m, and there were enough stations to work all the time. This contest was the starter of this fall's contest season. Our new HF stubs seem to work well and in general the station is ready for next sprints. We have also a new 80m antenna, that was made by Hessu OH7ND, OH2BGC. The antenna is in vertical position, is made of 450 Ohm ladder line and is good up to 200W tx power.
Next weekend we will make some noise in the CQ WW RTTY. At least three stations will be QRV with some 5-6 operators hitting the enter key several times. If you want to join the fun, drop a note on our irc channel #oh2k on IRCnet. Newcomers are welcome.
As a last note, we will reveal our secret weapon that we had in SAC CW: our official contest juice this time was fresh made Finnish cowberry juice. It contains high levels of C- and other healthy vitamins giving the operators extra strengths to run the massive pileups. Next weekend we may have some juice still left...
